Dr Karen Oswald

Dr Oswald has been a general practitioner for over 30 years, with wide interests, including aviation medicine and diving medicine, as well as women's health, anti-ageing medicine, and teaching.

Healthy aging includes consideration of many factors for remaining fit and well. This may involve lifestyle modification such as weight management, exercise and stress management as well as use of supplements and hormones.

Dr Oswald has attended many intensive courses to learn non-surgical techniques for vaginal rejuvenation, vaginal laxity, and management of urinary incontinence. She also has training in labiaplasty and minor surgical procedures for functional and aesthetic outcomes.Dr Oswald is an accredited provider of the “O shot” as well as laser-based treatments.

Ozderm Clinic is a family and General Practice established around 15 years ago.

This Practice has been providing general practice medical services mostly to local residents in North Balgowlah– Balgowlah Height, Balgowlah, Seaforth, Manly, Manly vale, Dee Why, Curl Curl, Frenchs Forest and many more surrounding suburb.

We have the occasional patient who recalls coming to this practice as a child prior to 1950 and many patients who were brought to this practice as children by their parents continue to attend this practice as adults. Many now have families of their own and continue to bring their family to this practice.

We appreciate the important role in providing healthcare to the community and will continue to provide high quality general practice medical care from young to old.

TruAge & TruHealth Epigenetic Testing

We now offer TruAge and TruHealth, two epigenetic blood tests that analyse patterns of DNA methylation and provide information about biological ageing and a range of health-related biomarkers.

TruAge provides estimates of biological age and rate of ageing based on epigenetic markers. The report also includes estimates relating to the biological ageing of individual organ systems. TruHealth provides a broader analysis of more than 100 reported biomarkers associated with areas such as nutrition, metabolic health, cardiovascular health and immune function. These results are best considered alongside your medical history, symptoms, examination findings and other clinically appropriate investigations. They are not intended to diagnose a medical condition or replace standard diagnostic testing.

Rather than using an at-home finger-prick collection, your blood sample is collected by venepuncture during a consultation. Where appropriate, this may be performed at the same time as other blood tests you require.

Testing arranged through the clinic also provides access to a practitioner report, allowing us to review and discuss the findings in the context of your individual health circumstances.

The tests can be repeated over time. Where clinically appropriate, repeat testing may provide additional information about changes in measured epigenetic markers. Results should not, however, be interpreted in isolation as evidence that a particular diet, supplement or treatment has caused a change in health or ageing.
