Thermal Skin Tightening

What is skin tightening?

Thermal Skin Tightening uses radio frequency waves to heat the dermis of the skin where your collagen and elastin is created.  By causing controlled, mechanical damage to the dermis it stimulates the skin to repair itself and stimulate new collagen growth. Essentially this results in natural lifting and tightening while creating uniform volume over the treatment area.  It also contributes to smoother texture and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.  It can also be used on the body to reduce the appearance of cellulite ‘cottage cheese’ effect.

How long will the result last for?

With one treatment, collagen production will continue for up to six months but with a series of treatments your results can continue for years.  It is also important to remember that prevention is the best cure, so regular maintenance treatments will prevent the skin from becoming saggy in the future.

Do I feel pain during the procedure?

It may feel a little bit uncomfortable at times but no real pain should be experienced.  You may look slightly reddened and have a tight feeling after the procedure but after a couple of days your skin will be back to normal.

Like most cosmetic procedures this is not recommended for ladies who are pregnant, breast feeding or trying to conceive. Those who have implanted cardiac devices like pacemakers, or people who use chronic anti coagulant medications. Uncontrolled diabetes and some autoimmune disorders, recent laser surgery or recent use of oral prescription retinoid for acne treatment may also be contraindicated. Your practitioner will discuss your current and past medical history with you to determine your suitability.
